Submissions are officially closed for 2026. If you are selected to perform, you will hear from our team via email.

Every submission will be carefully reviewed by our official listening panel, made up of industry professionals. Performers will be selected based on the strength of their composition, authenticity of their voice, and originality of their artistry.

Please Note: There is a non-refundable $45 submission fee. Every dollar of this fee goes directly to the Muscle Shoals Songwriters Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Lee Krabel

Lee Krabel is the Vice President of Publishing at SMACK Songs, where he plays a pivotal role in developing and supporting top songwriting talent. Throughout his career, he has worked with renowned writers such as Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne. Before joining SMACK Songs, Lee held key positions at HoriPro Entertainment Group and Sea Gayle Music. A proud graduate of Belmont University, he brings a wealth of industry expertise.

Casey le'vasseur

Casey Le'Vasseur is no stranger to the music industry. She spent much of her childhood in the crowds of local dives, studios and publishing houses learning the craft and business from some of the very best producers, managers and writers. Her list of teachers and mentors includes her father, Hall of Fame songwriter, Jeffrey Steele. She is head of A&R/Artist Management at 3 Ring Circus Music & Records in Nashville,TN and has played an active role in the development of several hit writers as well as had a hand in many song placements from Miley Cyrus to Keith Urban, Eric Church, Cher and the like.

Anthony Smith

Anthony Smith is a versatile songwriter, producer and arranger who has achieved great success in many genres, including Country, Pop, R&B, and Jazz. Artists who have recorded his songs include Chris Young, Reba, Parmalee, Lauren Alaina, Lonestar, Vince Gill, and Kenny Rogers - just to name a few. His #1 hits include "Tomorrow" recorded by Chris Young, "What About Now" recorded by Lonestar, and several others. Smith was a featured “mentor songwriter,” along with Jermaine Jackson and George Clinton, on Seasons 2 and 3 of the hit CMT reality show, “GONE COUNTRY.” Smith is a graduate of Leadership Music and has serves or has served on the boards of NARAS (National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences - The Grammys), NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association International) and The Nashville Film Festival.

based on three key categories.

Composition

Song submissions will be evaluated based on composition, with a focus on lyrical structure and melody.

Originality

The uniqueness of the song’s concept and how effectively the song connects with the listener.

Authenticity

Whether the song feels genuine and true to the songwriter’s voice and message.
